Congressman Michael Rulli
Congressman Michael A Rulli is serving his first term in Congress after being elected to fill the unexpired term of former Congressman Bill Johnson.
He previously served in the Ohio Senate, representing the 33rd Senate District, which includes all of Columbiana, Carroll, and Mahoning counties.
Mahoning Valley has been his family’s home and place of business for generations. Congressman Rulli was previously elected to the Leetonia School Board and is passionate about the education of our children. As President of the school board, he led the district through a crippling financial crisis, and the district climbed into the top 100 in the state in “value-added,” a distinction Leetonia Schools held two years in a row.
As a father and husband, Congressman Rulli understands the concerns of families and realizes the importance of a healthy and stable economic climate, safe communities, and family values. He has been recognized by The Better Business Bureau, receiving the organization’s 2017 Torch Award. The Regional Chamber also honored him with the 2017 Small Businessman of the Year award. Congressman Rulli is a graduate of Poland Seminary High School, the Naval Sea Cadets, and Emerson College.
State Senator Al Cutrona
State Senator Alessandro “Al” Cutrona was appointed to the Ohio Senate on June 26th, 2024. He previously represented Mahoning County in the Ohio House beginning in 2020.
He is a proud graduate of Canfield High School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from Youngstown State University (YSU), where he graduated Cum Laude. During college, he was a Representative of Student Government Association and member of the Academic Affairs Committee. He then attended law school and earned his juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he earned a Leadership Scholarship.
Currently, Cutrona holds a position as the Chief Operating Officer for a large tri-county infectious disease medical practice. The infectious disease medical practice covers Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana County. Additionally, he is a practicing attorney at a consumer bankruptcy law firm of Amourgis & Associates. As a federally licensed attorney, he focuses on consumer bankruptcy law (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13). Additionally, he has held several other positions at law offices throughout his professional career. While in law school, he clerked for the Honorable Gene Donofrio of the Ohio Seventh District Court of Appeals and held an externship for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio in the Civil Division.
He is currently on the Board of Trustees for Organizacion Civica y Cultural Hispana Americana (OCCHA). Where he is a proud Hispanic and Italian-American. A member of St. Anthony’s of Padua Church in Youngstown, Ohio, where he volunteered during college. He is a lifetime member of the NRA. During his spare time, he enjoys hunting and helping out on his family’s farm.
His father is a leading physician in the area of infectious disease, and his mother is a real estate agent.
State Representative Tex Fischer
State Representative Tex Fischer was appointed to the Ohio House of Representatives on June 26th, 2024, to replace Al Cutrona after his appointment to the Ohio Senate. He represents the 58th Ohio House District, which encompasses portions of Mahoning County, and will be seeking re-election for the 59th District on the November ballot.
Born and raised in Youngstown, Tex lives in Boardman and is a proud Mahoning Valley native with working-class roots. He has spent the last decade fighting for conservative values and building a successful small business with a national client base.
Before joining the Ohio House, Tex served as a regional manager for Turning Point USA from 2015-2017, overseeing operations in 4 states and managing a team of 20. He worked for the Ohio Republican Party in 2018 before signing on as the National Field Director for the American Conservation Coalition. After 3 years leading the ACC’s Field Department, he chose to pursue building his business full-time in the summer of 2021.
Since then, H&F Strategies has seen great success, growing into one of the largest firms in its field, helping public officials, organizations, and businesses communicate their message online in innovative and effective ways.
In the legislature, Tex is focused on reducing the tax burden on working families and small businesses, fiscal responsibility, and ensuring the state government is working for the people, not special interests.
Court of Appeals Judge Carol Ann Robb
Judge Carol Ann Robb was elected to the 7th District Court of Appeals in 2014. She brings extensive experience as a trial court judge to the appellate bench. In 2001 she was appointed Magistrate for the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court before being elected Judge of the Columbiana County Municipal Court in 2005.
During her ten years as Municipal Court Judge, Judge Robb earned acclaim statewide and nationally for programs she initiated in the court. One such program was the mental health docket known as STAR, Successful Treatment And Recovery. STAR was the first mental health docket certified by the Ohio Supreme Court and has been used as the template for mental health courts throughout Ohio. Under Judge Robb's leadership, the Columbiana County Municipal Court was the first court in Ohio to address economic issues faced by defendants based upon "Bridges Out of Poverty". The Defendant's Getting Ahead program reduced recidivism for its graduates and helped them gain and maintain employment. It was adopted by fourteen (14) other courts in Ohio and by numerous other courts throughout the country. To promote employment, Judge Robb worked with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles to put safe drivers back on the road. She also extended the use of electronically monitored house arrest to include indigent defendants, saving substantial tax dollars and providing equal justice to all defendants.
Prior to taking the bench, Carol Robb practiced law in the Youngstown Area with the law firm of Roth, Stephens & Blair LPA (now known as Roth, Blair, Roberts, Strasfeld & Lodge LPA) before opening her private practice in Columbiana County. She practiced law for 18 years.
Ohio Court of Appeals Judge Mark Hanni
Judge Mark A. Hanni was elected to the 7th District Court of Appeals in 2022.
Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene
After over 30 years of continual law enforcement service to Mahoning County, Jerry Greene was re-elected as Sheriff of Mahoning County for a third term. He looks forward in continuing to utilize his experience to serve the residents of Mahoning County as their Sheriff. Sheriff Greene has a proven track record of integrity, management, and administrative experience in Law Enforcement and Jail Administration.
Sheriff Greene is a lifelong resident of Mahoning County. He is a Boardman High School graduate, as well as a proud Youngstown State University Alumni. He and his family reside in Boardman Township. He and his wife Barb have three wonderful children.
Sheriff Greene began working for the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office as a reserve Deputy Sheriff in 1989 and became a full time Deputy Sheriff in 1991. Sheriff Greene worked his way through the ranks achieving the rank of Captain in 2007. In 2008, Sheriff Greene attended the 234th session of the FBI National Academy in which only the top 1% of Law Enforcement Executives attend worldwide. Sheriff Greene has served on the Mahoning County Corrections Board of Advisors, the Alta Care Group Board of Trustees, the President of the Austintown Boardman Mahoning County Joint Communications District, and as Chairman of the Board of the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force. Sheriff Greene also was the 2016 recipient of the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Executives Association President’s Award, the 2017 Mental Health and Recovery Board Program Award recipient for his stepping up program, the 2018 Youngstown State University Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences Alumni of the year, and the 2020 Ohio Behavioral Health CARES Award for his commitment to Mental Illness and recovery. Sheriff Greene also is a proud member of the following associations: National Sheriff’s Association, FBI National Academy Association, and the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association.
Mahoning County Auditor Ralph Meacham
Born and raised in Warren, Ohio, Meacham graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. He went on to earn an AB in Economics from John Carroll University and a MBA in Banking and Finance from Case Western Reserve University.
Meacham worked in local banks and at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland prior to receiving his MBA. Upon graduation, he started his professional career as a consultant and accountant at Ernst and Young, an international accounting firm. From there, he has been a Vice President at Mellon Bank, CFO of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of Lincoln Savings Bank, Registered Representative at Burgwin and Co. Brokerage Firm, CFO and Director of Human Resources at Butler Wick Corporation as well as CFO and Director of Operations at a regional CPA firm.
Integrity, transparency and accountability are the core principles on which Meacham has built his career. As Mahoning County Auditor, Meacham is relying on those same principles as he explores ways to save tax dollars, streamline services and restore taxpayer confidence in county government. The knowledge he has gained over his 35 years of financial management and leadership give him the unique opportunity to apply private business practices to government.
Auditor Meacham and his wife Mary Alice reside in Lake Milton. He has three adult daughters.
